Why Come to the Cave
After the Court?

Pickleball can be surprisingly hard on the body—especially the knees, ankles, feet, and all the little muscles that feel “one more game” the next day. After the court, the salt cave offers a quiet place to put your feet up, breathe deeply, restore, and reset your nervous system.

It’s a simple way to build recovery into your routine.

What to Expect

Upon entering the dimly lit cave, the floor will transition from salt bricks to a loose salt floor, which kind of feels like coarse sand. Choose one of eight zero- gravity chairs and a team member will come around to cover you with a blanket and recline the chair. Your session includes relaxing, meditative music and will begin (and end) with three gentle gongs

Just Breathe! That’s all there is to do. The salt cave and salt air will do the rest. Himalayan salt is naturally antibacterial, anti-fungal and anti-inflammatory. Breathing it in will help to detox your body and cleanse the respiratory system. Close your eyes, rest, pray, meditate, and just shut off the world for 45 minutes.

Recover Like a Pro

When Rashard and Sandra Mendenhall returned to Pittsburgh, they saw in Salt of the Earth an opportunity to preserve something meaningful: a place devoted to restoration, balance, and well-being. What drew them in was the space provided wellness for your mind and body. They bought Salt of the Earth in 2025 and brought a broader vision of recovery to the salt cave experience through halotherapy, massage, and meditation.

For pickleball players, the salt cave offers a restorative pause after time on the court. A place to put your feet up, breathe deeply, and reset before taking on whatever comes next, in life and on the court.
